Happiness is unexplainable

Today I was happy, and I know that's a very broad term but it was the happiest I have been in a long time. My day really wasn't even that eventful unless you consider going to the eye doctor and work super fun! Work was great I love teaching the two girls they are just funny and make anything eventful. How could teaching ice skating lessons be considered work? I guess when your doing something you love you just don't even realize how much time flies. I finished teaching around 3:40 then got to skate a little till the session ended. When I skate and I know this is going to sound dorky but I feel like I am the only one around....it just puts a smile on my face. Somehow after work when we all walked to the parking lot...nobody, not one person got in their car. We just all started talking in between two of our cars and it was really nice getting to know everyone at the rink...considering I'm still the newbie at the rink. Who sits in a parking lot from 4:30 to 8...just who does that!? We do! It was so much fun and we talked about everything you could think of...such random conversations took place. You know we have no life when the people from the day shift were still there when the people to work the night shift arrived and continued our little party in the parking lot. Working at the ice rink has made me happier. I have met some amazing people who I am definitely going to miss over the summer. I wish the rink could be open all year round but sadly all good things have to come to an end at some point. For now, I hope this happiness continues and I am going to keep living life the way it should be...not stressing about every little thing that comes along in life.

5k for Autism!

As Vice President of autism awareness club the 5k is the biggest event of the year that we have. This year was a huge success even if I was basically living in the center for the past week! On Thursday a bunch of volunteers including myself were at the center for about 3 hours. One of our tasks was sorting shirts...you would think that nothing weird or bad could happened with this...well you were wrong. One person would count the shirts and the other would fold. I was working with my friend Lindsay, she was folding and I was counting. While I was counting, I somehow ended up flicking shirts her way. Most of them hitting her in the face. I managed to form such a big pile of shirts between us that we started a game of shirt volleyball in the center hallway! That was only one of the many things we had to do in order to prepare for the 5k! We all got super hungry that night and ended up stealing 30 chicken fingers from the caf! I think we looked quite funny running across campus with all that food...but don't forget the ketchup and bbq sauce! Friday was the day before the race, I was in the center for 5 hours, but then I told them I had to leave when they went to give me more work! That night I tried going to bed early because I had to be up so early for the event...sadly I couldn't sleep! I kept getting out of bed packing more things that I needed to bring to the 5k! I must have got one hour of sleep that night tops! I was up sitting in my common room when my suitemate got back from bartending...that's when you know you have sleeping problems! I was up and ready at the Autism center at 6am Saturday morning running around like a maniac. I ran back and forth between the library lawn and the center so many times that I think I ran a 5k! Everything was set up by the time the rest of the club volunteers got there and I was still not tired surprisingly! Once everyone got their volunteer shirts we had to line the fun run! I somehow always end up running the fun run with the kids but I always have fun! After that we went on to run the kids games while the 5k run/walk started! I was a little upset that I never got my captains shirt after all the hard work I put in to this event but it was a political thing. Overall the whole event was fun and it was a huge success! I'm glad I was a part of raising money for such a great cause! Hope everyone had as much fun as I did, even if you were working hard. I CAN'T WAIT TO INTERN AT THE CENTER! Thank you to everyone who helped out!

Where did Easter break go?

Easter Break went by way too fast! I had so much work I had hoped to get done and that did not really happen. This long weekend I finally got my birthday present, an IPad3 yay!! I was really happy about this and I am addicted to playing games on it! Definitely distracting and one of the things that kept me from doing my homework this weekend!

One of the other things I did this weekend was teach the end of my group ice skating class! I loved my class, they were all so cute...even if they all thought they were little piggies. Teaching about six little kids how to ice skate, is not the easiest job but it is definitely entertaining...is that bad to say? One of the most challenging things for me was that the kids were all different levels...even if they were all supposed to be on levels tot 3 and tot 4. Since Saturday was the last class, my class asked me if they can hug me at the end. When they went to hug me they almost knocked me down! I am going to miss my little piggies a lot hopefully I will see them again next season!

Easter Sunday was a lot of fun. At church, I ended up having to hide all the eggs in the playground for the little kids. This was a little harder than it sounds because I was in wedges and the rubber tires were not good for walking on...I fell once, good thing nobody saw. After church, we headed down the shore where we met up with the rest of my moms side of the family. Every year my family ends up going down the shore on Easter, and somehow we always end up playing football on the beach...all dressed up. I have got to say that we get some pretty weird looks from other families. Seeing my family was really nice and we always all have fun.

Overall, break was really fun and way too busy. Hope everyone enjoyed their break as well!
